Together with the University, we build a vision of an art city - "Chuk Mei Yuen Literary Award Collection Exhibition" debuts at HKUST

Juk Mei Yuan Literary Arts Award Collection Exhibition

The Wang Yuan-Lin Culture and Arts Foundation has long been committed to promoting artistic creation and cultural rooting in Taiwan. Since its inception in 2015, the "Zhumei Yuan Literary Award" has grown from a deep commitment to local art promotion to a nationally influential art award. In the past ten years, the award has attracted more than 3,000 participants and collected more than 100 outstanding works of art, leaving behind a rich and diversified body of creative achievements for contemporary art in Taiwan. After the successful conclusion of the 10th award, the award was renamed the "Wang Yuan-Lin Art Award", symbolizing an important milestone for the Foundation in continuing to promote the development of art and culture in Taiwan and expanding the horizons of international exchanges.

In order to present the energy of the collection over the past ten years, the Foundation, in collaboration with the Center for Arts and Culture of the School of Common Education, National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST), is organizing the "Bamboo Plum Source Literature and Art Prize Collection Exhibition" at the Exhibition Hall on the first floor of the Center for Arts and Culture of NKUST's Jiansheng Campus, from now until March 20, 115th. The exhibition is curated around the works in the Foundation's collection over the years, with four sub-themes: "Origin, Bao Lai," "Ideal, Home," "Fantasia," and "We," presenting the diverse explorations of different generations of creators in terms of form, creative vocabulary, and artistic perspectives.

The first wave of the exhibition, titled "Original Country, Bao Lai," features fourteen works from the collection, curated by Prof. Sheng-Hua Cheng of the Department of Fine Arts and Master's Program of Tainan University of Applied Sciences. Through the curatorial process, the exhibition will lead the audience to look back at the local landscape, contemplate on the contemporary society, and feel the deep-seated connection between art and the land. The exhibition also presents the results of the collaboration between the Foundation and the university in realizing the public nature of art, hoping that through the exhibition, the public will be guided to the campus space to get close to the art collection and deepen their cultural participation.
