The Wang Yuan-Lin Culture and Arts Foundation - Mr. Wang Yuan-Lin, an entrepreneur who has been deeply involved in forestation in Baolai for forty years, experienced the devastation of the August 8th flood that ravaged the mountains and forests of East Kaohsiung. The once prosperous fairyland was transformed overnight. Faced with the decline and economic depression of his hometown, Mr. Wang Yuan-Lin, with a heart full of love for his homeland and a commitment to giving back to his community, has been organizing events in Baolai, Liugui District since 2015. These include the "2015 Re-seeing the Beauty of Baolai - National Oil Painting Competition," "2016 Re-seeing the Beauty of Baolai - National Children's Sketching Competition," and the "2016 Bamboo-Plum Garden Literary Award - National Oil Painting Competition," which continue to this day. The hope is that through the strokes of artists, the transformation of Baolai will be painted, its new look captured, and the beauty of Baolai's humanistic elegance will be re- portoyed.
