The 9th Zhumeiyuan Literary Awards Ceremony Concluded Successfully

The award ceremony for the winning works of the 9th National Oil Painting Competition of the Zhumeiyuan Literary Award was held on the afternoon of February 24 (Saturday) at the Kaohsiung City Cultural Center to Zhen Er Hall.

The paintings selected for the 9th Zhumeiyuan Literature and Art Award, limited to size 50, attracted 248 domestic and foreign people who love art creation to participate. Nearly 10% of the contestants were under the age of 20, and the youngest was 17 years old. Two of the oldest contestants are 82 years old. There are 41 winning paintings this year. None of the top 10 winning painters were last year's winners, and there are 7 consecutive paintings selected. Mr. Xu Wenchang from New Taipei City won the first place trophy and a bonus of NT$300,000 from the organizer, Chairman Wang Yuanlin of the Wang Yuanlin Culture and Arts Foundation, with his work "Ugly Artist Life".

In order to encourage the creation of artistic elites and sustain the roots of art, the Wang Yuanlin Foundation holds the Zhumeiyuan Literature and Art Award. In the past 9 years, it has attracted nearly 3,000 entries and has been widely praised by creators who pay attention to Taiwanese art. Chairman Wang Yuanlin specifically mentioned in his speech that after the 10th Zhumeiyuan Literary Award Competition, the plan was to transform and change the competition method to enhance the development of Taiwanese art and sustain the life of Taiwanese art. Therefore, we also consult the judges and experts who attended the award ceremony, who can provide valuable transformation methods and opinions, so that Taiwanese art can flourish and become famous internationally.
