A total of 42 paintings won awards this year, four of which were 17 years old, and more than 70% of the shortlisted entries were new. Chairman Wang Yuanlin affirmed the emergence of many talents and congratulated all the winners.
Chairman Wang Yuanlin said in his speech that the Zhumeiyuan Literature and Art Award was held to encourage artistic elites to create and to root sustainable art. After ten years of efforts, it attracted nearly three thousand applicants. In order to continue the original intention of encouraging creation, focus more on discovering Taiwanese artistic talents, and promote the internationalization and sustainable development of Taiwanese culture and art, the "Wang Yuanlin Art Award" will become an advanced version of the Zhumeiyuan Literature and Art Award, opening a new creative competition. We look forward to providing more opportunities for potential artists to showcase their art, so that Taiwan’s art can become an important force in the world’s cultural dialogue.
Chairman Wang Yuanlin said that the winning works of the "Wang Yuanlin Art Award" will have the opportunity to be exhibited at Taiwan or international art fairs, providing a display and sales platform. This is not only an affirmation of the artist's creation, but also one of the foundation's core missions to promote the international marketing of Taiwan's culture and art. We hope that through this award, we can showcase to the world the outstanding creations, unique artistic perspectives, and cultural heritage of Taiwanese artists.
